Pokénnoisseur

Setting up alerts

Français

The app pushes a notification to your phone the moment something restocks at a shop you follow. It is the same subscription as your Discord roles, so what you pick in one shows up in the other. You need an active membership.

Pick your device below.

iPhone and iPad

Install first, then link. iOS only allows notifications from an app on your Home Screen, so turning them on inside Safari will not work.

  1. Open pokennoisseur.ca/app in Safari
  2. Tap Share, the square with an arrow coming out of it. It is at the bottom of the screen on iPhone and the top right on iPad
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add
  4. Leave Safari and open Pokénnoisseur from your Home Screen
  5. Tap Link your Discord account. Safari opens and asks you to approve
  6. Safari shows an 8-character code. Copy it, switch back to Pokénnoisseur, type it in and tap Finish linking
  7. Tap Enable alerts, then Allow when iOS asks

Needs iOS 16.4 or later. The code is typed rather than handed back automatically because Safari and the installed app do not share a sign-in, which is also why step 4 has to happen before step 5.

Every notification shows the Pokénnoisseur icon rather than the shop logo. iOS does not let a web app change it. The shop name is the first thing in the notification text.

Android
  1. Open pokennoisseur.ca/app in Chrome
  2. Tap Link your Discord account and approve in the tab that opens
  3. Copy the 8-character code, come back, type it in and tap Finish linking
  4. Tap Enable alerts, then Allow

To get a Home Screen icon, tap Install app when that button appears, or open the browser ⋮ menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

On Android the alerts work from a browser tab as well, so installing is optional. It keeps the app out of your tab list, which is the main reason to do it.

Computer

Chrome, Edge and Brave all work. Firefox and Safari on a Mac are not supported.

  1. Open pokennoisseur.ca/app
  2. Click Link your Discord account and approve in the tab that opens
  3. Copy the 8-character code, come back, type it in and click Finish linking
  4. Click Enable alerts, then Allow

To install it as its own window, use the install icon in the address bar, or open the browser menu and look for Install.

On a Mac, also allow notifications for the browser itself in System Settings, Notifications. If that is off, the app will say alerts are on and nothing will ever appear.

On Windows, check Settings, System, Notifications, and turn off Focus assist or Do not disturb.

Alerts are on but nothing arrives

Work down this list. The first two cover almost every case.

Still stuck: post in Discord with your device and what the app says on screen.
