The app sends a notification to your phone the moment something restocks at a shop you follow. It uses the same subscriptions as your Discord roles, so whatever you pick in one shows up in the other. It needs an active membership.
Open it at pokennoisseur.ca/app. The app's own setup page has the same steps if you want them beside you.
iPhone and iPad
Install it first, then link. iOS only allows notifications from an app on your Home Screen, so turning them on inside Safari won't work. Needs iOS 16.4 or later.
- Open pokennoisseur.ca/app in Safari
- Tap Share (the square with the arrow, at the bottom on iPhone and top right on iPad), then Add to Home Screen, then Add
- Leave Safari and open Pokénnoisseur from your Home Screen
- Tap Link your Discord account. Safari opens and asks you to approve
- Safari shows an 8-character code. Copy it, switch back to Pokénnoisseur, type it in and tap Finish linking
- Tap Enable alerts, then Allow
The code is typed in because Safari and the installed app don't share a sign-in, which is also why you install before you link. Every notification shows the Pokénnoisseur icon (iOS won't let a web app change it), and the shop name comes first in the text.
Android
- Open pokennoisseur.ca/app in Chrome
- Tap Link your Discord account and approve in the tab that opens
- Copy the 8-character code, come back, type it in and tap Finish linking
- Tap Enable alerts, then Allow
Installing is optional on Android, since alerts work from a browser tab too. To get a Home Screen icon, tap Install app when it appears, or use the browser ⋮ menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Computer
Chrome, Edge and Brave work. Firefox and Safari on a Mac don't.
- Open pokennoisseur.ca/app
- Click Link your Discord account and approve in the tab that opens
- Copy the 8-character code, come back, type it in and click Finish linking
- Click Enable alerts, then Allow
On a Mac, also allow notifications for the browser itself in System Settings, Notifications, or the app will say alerts are on and nothing will appear. On Windows, check Settings, System, Notifications, and turn off Focus assist or Do not disturb.
Choose what reaches your phone
Once alerts are on, the app has two lists, and they do different things:
- Phone alerts controls only what gets pushed to your phone. Untick any retailer you don't want notifications for (each group has All on and All off), then tap Save phone alerts. Your Discord pings don't change
- What you get alerted about is the same as your Discord roles. Changing it changes what you're pinged for in Discord too
So if a store is too noisy on your phone but you still want it in Discord, untick it under Phone alerts.
Linking didn't work
- Nothing opens when you tap Link. Close the app and open it again (or refresh in Safari), then try again
- "That code did not work." Clear the site data for pokennoisseur.ca in your browser, then start the link again. Make sure you approve with the same Discord account you use in the server
- The code box is gone when you come back. Tap Link your Discord account again and type the code you copied
Alerts are on but nothing arrives
Work down this list. The first two cover almost every case.
- The subscription is Discord only. Language, Regions and Mastermind in-store ping in Discord but aren't carried by the app. For shops, subscribe to the individual shops you care about rather than a whole province
- You aren't subscribed to anything yet. Open the app and check the list under What you get alerted about. An empty list means no alerts. A quiet week at the stores you follow also means no alerts, so add a busy shop or two
- You unticked it under Phone alerts. Open the app and check that the retailer is ticked
- Your phone is holding them. Check Focus or Do Not Disturb. On iPhone, make sure Pokénnoisseur isn't in Scheduled Summary under Settings, Notifications. On Android, exclude Chrome from battery saving
- You tapped Don't Allow. On iPhone, delete the Home Screen icon, add it again and enable alerts on the fresh copy. On Android or a computer, tap the icon at the left of the address bar, then Notifications, then Allow
- Your membership lapsed. The app says so when you open it. See Free vs membership
- You unlinked or cleared your browser data. Link the account again from the app
